How this map was made
The sites
The States published its first Housing Site Availability Framework in March 2026. It lists 67 sites with their location area, landowner, tenure, number of homes, permission dates, and a stage for three dates: Q3 2025, Q4 2025 and the time of publication. The framework is meant to be updated twice a year; this map uses the first edition.
The stages are the framework's own: potential site, planning work ongoing, planning application ready, permission granted, post-planning and pre-construction, construction underway, and construction complete. A permission counts as valid for three years.
Planning history
Matching is by location, so a list can include an application on a neighbouring part of the same site, and can miss one filed under a different property reference.
What the framework doesn't show
A stage is the States' own assessment at a point in time, not a site inspection. The Quarry found the former L'Eree Hotel cleared in April 2026 while the framework listed it as under construction, and a revised scheme for the site was submitted in October 2026. Homes are counted as the framework counts them; five sites, including both hospitals, have no figure yet.
Locations and photos
Each site is placed at a point set by The Quarry for its housing tracker. Photos are added as The Quarry visits each site.
